How to cook a Club Sandwich with your coffee maker

how to cook food with your coffee maker

Time

2.5 hrs

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of bread (I used olive ciabatta )
  • 1 plate (the amount that fits on the coffee maker plate) of bacon
  • 1 plate of chicken
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Cheese

Dressing

  • 2 tsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp crème fraîche
  • 2 tsps Dijon mustard
  • Chili pepper
  • Red Cabbage

Instructions

Start the coffee maker. Toast the bread slices on both sides, directly on the coffee maker plate. When finished, put them aside.

Cut bacon and fry this too directly on the plate until it becomes crispy and nice. Takes about 45 minutes. Now it’s time for the chicken! Chop chicken fillet into small pieces. Maybe you’d like to clean the plate after frying the bacon, but I fried the chicken in the bacon grease since it wasn’t too burned. Fry until the chicken is well done. As you hopefully know, the chicken should not be at pink at all. That’s not good.

While the chicken is cooking, you can fix the rest. Mix all of the dressing stuff together and chop the red cabbage. The coleslaw, that I served with the sandwich, consists of the dressing left over mixed with the red cabbage. So don’t mix the dressing with the cabbage just yet. Wait until after the construction of the sandwich.

Turn off the coffeemaker.

When all the food is cooked, it’s time for the construction. First, a slice of bread and then dressing, lettuce, chicken, cheese, bacon, tomato, bread again, dressing, lettuce, cheese, tomato, chicken, bacon, dressing and at last a piece of bread on top. No, I do not remember if it’s the exact order… But something like that.

Enjoy!

  1. This is really amazing!I never knew that you could cook sandwiches with your coffee maker. I bought a coffee maker from best brand appliance and I have been using it only to make coffee. I definitely would have to try it out.

    1. Do you put water in the carafe while using hot plate? Is it ok to turn on the coffemaker without having water in the chamber? Thanks
